Hello everyone!! I am Kelsey Stemple, as I'm sure you can see, and I am from Aurora, WV. I lived in Martinsburg, WV for almost 14 years of my life and just recently my family moved back up to Preston County. I currently have a house in Fairmont and plan to remain there for a couple years.
I want to, one day, teach a fifth grade math class. I also hope to graduate with a specialization in math when I leave Fairmont State. In my personal opinion, I feel like children learn when they are engaged in the classroom. If a child has a teacher who they can relate to and who can make them laugh it becomes easier for them to learn. That student then wants to listen to us more because they feel more comfortable. I could be teaching them algebra and have them move around the classroom to get the answers to the equation or they could be on an Ipad working with a calculator to solve problems that I am giving them. There are many ways that you can keep children involved in the classroom with technology and without.
